Our Research

The current research focus of Dr. Kristen Gibson’s laboratory at University of Arkansas is on the fate and transport of pathogens within food systems with a focus on human noroviruses and fresh produce as well as retail food safety.

Gina Riggio is a student in Dr. Gibson’s lab and is pursuing a PhD in Cell and Molecular Biology. The microgreen food safety project will be the subject of her doctoral dissertation.
